Our Associate Team

The STMS Associate Team have a wide range of specialist skills and have been selected to work in partnership with us as they have the proven ability to deliver excellent results to support our clients’ requirements. A selection of our associates and their experiences are detailed below:

Jim Bloomfield

Jim is a selection and management development professional with international experience working across a range of industry sectors and job levels, up to and including board level. His projects have spanned the design and delivery of objective selection processes, facilitation of assessment and development centres, one to one feedback sessions and career development interventions. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2005, Jim worked in consultancy roles for market-leading psychometric test publisher SHL (UK) Ltd, and later, TMP Worldwide, the UK’s largest recruitment advertising agency. Jim is an Associate Member of the Association of Business Psychologists (ABP) and registered as a Level A and B trained user with the British Psychological Society (BPS). He is accredited to use tools such as OPQ32, Wave, NEO PI-R, Hogan Development Survey (HDS) and Dimensions. Jim particularly enjoys the design and delivery of assessment processes as well as project and client management.

Susan Hogarth

Susan Hogarth graduated with an honours degree in Business Management and she became a client support executive for a talent management team within a recruitment consultancy. Utilising the experience and training gained, Susan branched out to become a freelance consultant working for various organisations both in the private and the public sectors to help them attract, recruit, develop, coach and train employees. Clients include the BBC, Vodafone, Transport for London, British American Tobacco, Royal Mail, London Business School, the NHS, HM Treasury, Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Susan continues to provide advice, training and coaching support to help businesses develop talented leaders. She has a considerable amount of experience in providing assessment and development feedback and preparing comprehensive development reports.

Sheena Emes

Sheena worked at the National Audit Office first as a line manager, and subsequently gained ten years experience there in human resources. She worked across the full range of personnel, training and development functions, introducing a new competency framework to support selection and development, and designing assessment centres for external recruitment campaigns to attract accountancy professionals. She project managed the introduction of a management development programme, introducing the concept of mentoring and other activities to support personal development. For the last four years she has worked as a consultant on recruitment and selection assessment centres and development centres. She has substantial public sector experience with organisations such as the NHS Trusts, TfL, BAA, MoD, the Arts Council and the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission. Her private sector clients include QinetiQ, Barclays and HSBC. She has worked mainly with middle managers and junior staff although she has conducted assessments with applicants at Director level in the NHS.

Jan Oldand

Jan has over 25 years of operational management experience, most of which has been at a senior level. Her experience spans a range of organisations including employment agencies, housing, insurance, business supplies and services, and financial services. Jan was involved in running and developing operational areas, providing support and training to middle management through large scale restructuring and change within organisations. An independent Business Consultant since 1999, Jan routinely supports clients with business services which include assessing internal and external staff in high and low volume recruitment campaigns, re-engineering business processes to improve efficiency, review procedures, staff and management behavioural skills, installing and writing comprehensive procedure manuals to ensure consistency and quality, auditing and monitoring ISO Quality Systems.

Leonie Issacson

Leonie is a HR Management Consultant and Coach with extensive experience of working with individuals at all stages in their careers. She specialises in development and performance either on a one to one basis or within teams through coaching, management and leadership development, team effectiveness, assessment, recruitment management and outplacement. She has a good understanding of the dynamics of large and small organisations, and having held senior management positions prior to becoming a consultant, provides a pragmatic and common sense approach in working with clients. Leonie is currently working with senior managers and directors in organisations across social housing, manufacturing, charitable, NHS and FTSE 250 sectors. She is keen to enable individuals and teams to realise their potential, especially during times of transition.

Louise Simpson

Louise is a practising Chartered Occupational Psychologist with over 14 years experience. She has worked in a wide range of industry sectors, both public and private, and has extensive experience of identifying and developing talent both in the selection and development fields as well as performance management and competency profiling. With a proven ability of providing solutions to meet organisations’ needs, credibility working at senior levels and extensive experience of report writing, she has a track record of delivering high quality solutions and working to meet clients’ needs.

Sally McAndrew

Sally is a successful HR Consultant whose background is in generalist HR management before moving to specialise in recruitment and assessment in 1999. She has worked for central and local government, multinational and small to medium sized organisations. She is qualified as a Chartered Member CIPD and also British Psychological Society level B in Occupational Testing since 1995. For the last ten years Sally has specialised in facilitating, assessing and designing assessment centres and delivering objective selection processes. Sally has extensive experience within the private and public sectors working at senior management level, but has also designed and delivered volume assessment centres. She also designs and delivers training to many organisations on topics such as appraisal, disciplinary and grievance, managing absence and competency based interview training. She also has an extensive wealth of experience in training and career transition, designing and delivering outplacement workshops and running a wide range of leadership programmes.
